Before earning her Doctorate of Naturopathic Medicine at National University of Natural Medicine, Dr. Jolene Brighten graduated with a degree in nutritional biochemistry and clinical nutrition at Cal Poly, SLO. There she was involved in nutrition research exploring interventions for maintaining healthy hormones and body composition as we age. She is currently the medical director at Rubus Health in Portland, Oregon.

Her practice is Life Coaching and Holisitic Wellness Consulting/Coaching. She partners with a Naturopathic Physician to offer labs, and consultations. Laura became chronically ill after the birth of her son and for three years tried every solution that conventional medicine had to offer. After countless scans, lab tests, specialists, and medications, she was told her symptoms were all in her head and she should be on psychiatric medications the rest of her life. It was at this moment that she realized if she wanted to become well she would have to find her own path to wellness. She found a Naturopathic Doctor and in 16 weeks was off 9 meds, and almost symptom free. As she learned about physiology and root cause medicine, she began to see how conventional medicine had unintended consequences, and that Natural Paths offered a better health outcome.
