Comorbidities like hypertension, diabetes and vitamin D deficiencies are all tied to COVID-19 complications and disproportionately affect the Black community, but the alarming rates at which COVID-19 is killing Black Americans extends beyond these comorbidities and may be attributed to other factors such as inequitable access to testing and treatment and withholding racial/ethnicity data from reports on virus outcomes. Dr. Redcross will discuss recommended health changes that can help disproportionately affected communities.

Healing power of light therapy - 08.18.20

Curtis Turchin, M.A., D.C. is considered one of the experts in the field of light and laser therapy for the treatment of acute and chronic pain.  He has been using light therapy for 35 years. In 1998 and 1999 he was Director of Clinical Sciences for Bales Scientific, the developer of the first FDA cleared light device and is presently director of clinical sciences for two light and laser companies. He has published 4 books, more than 20 journal articles, and has been extensively interviewed on radio and television. Dr. Turchin is the author of the text, Light and Light Therapy: Clinical Procedures, described as the authoritative text on clinical light treatment as well as LED and Light Therapy, Veterinary Laser Therapy, and Treating Addictions with Light Therapy, the only book published on this unique subject.  Dr. Turchin has taught therapists and doctors in the U.S., Europe, Japan, Brazil, Canada, and Guatemala. He has a bachelor’s degree in pre-medical studies and psychology from the University of Southern California, a master’s degree in education from San Francisco State University, and a doctor of chiropractic from Palmer College.
