Functional Medicine: A Journey of Self Discovery
Michelle Thompson, MD earned her medical degree at Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York.  She completed her residency in Internal Medicine and Fellowship in Geriatrics at Montefiore Medical Center. After decades in Private Practice, Dr. Thompson discovered Functional Medicine.  This specialty explores all the dimensions of illness and suffering and offers interventions for the person as a whole.  Functional Medicine targets the underlying cause of illness. In partnership with the patient, lifestyle and treatment plans are generated with the goal of optimal results in wellness and overall health. Dr. Thompson has found calling !

Dr. Kourtney Sims was born and raised in Valdosta, Georgia.  She received her undergraduate training from Xavier University of Louisiana and Tulane Medical School.  She completed her OB/Gyn training at University of Texas.

Dr. Kourtney is currently board certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology, is a fellow of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology (ACOG) and a certified practicing Menopause Specialist by the North American Menopause Society.  She has received education in Clinical Herbalism from  Dr. T. LowDog and is a member of the American Herbalist Guild.   She has also a member of the International Maharishi AyurVeda Foundation for Health Professionals, and has completed training via the Institute of Functional Medicine. 

Dr. Kourtney is an advocate for holistic and integrative women's health.  She is on a mission to spread her message of holistic and integrative women's health which she does through her health education site Holistic School of Harmony and Health.

Dr. Leslie Meyers is a licensed and board certified Naturopathic Doctor, who specializes in women's health, gastrointestinal issues, fertility, chronic fatigue, insomnia, and anxiety/depression. After completing her doctorate degree from Bastyr University, Dr. Meyers practiced as a primary care doctor in Seattle, focusing on women’s health, fertility, gastrointestinal issues, anxiety, depression, fatigue, and insomnia. 
Dr. Meyers then relocated to Asheville, NC, where her practice was able to focus on the fun side of holistic medicine. Dr. Meyers uses nutrition, lifestyle, herbal medicine, homeopathy, nutrient therapy, and education in private practice at the clinic run by herself, her wife, and their amazing team at WaterLeaf Naturopathic Medicine. Spice Apothecary with Bevin Clare
Bevin Clare is a professor at the Maryland University of Integrative Health and the program director of the MS in Clinical Herbal Medicine program. She holds a MSc in Infectious Disease from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine and has studied herbal medicine around the world, blending her knowledge of traditional uses of plants with modern science and contemporary healthcare strategies. She is the author of Spice Apothecary (Storey Books, 2020).  Bevin enjoys interacting with her students online as she wanders the globe with her two kiddos. Bevin is the current President of the American Herbalists Guild where she works to promote clinical herbalism accessibility and professionalism.
