Dr. Suzanne Keyes is a community pharmacist with over 20 years’ experience . Her passion for root cause analysis led her to become the 7th PharmD to receive certification through the Institute for Functional Medicine.  The training she received in Functional Medicine has helped Suzanne grow a large appointment-based consultation practice within her community pharmacy.
Dr. Keyes integrates her pharmacy education with her knowledge of functional medicine to identify critical drug-induced nutrient deficiencies, genetic anomalies, and deficits in nutrition that impact patient outcomes.  It is her belief that “with the proper support, the body has an innate ability to heal itself.”
Suzanne views chronic disease in a 'systems biology’ approach rather than a 'symptoms-based algorithm’; her mantra is simply put, "...we are the culmination of seven biological SYSTEMS and NOT hundreds of SYMPTOMS". Dr. Keyes utilizes advanced testing, in-depth patient histories and her training in the biological pathways to specialize in the development of comprehensive lifestyle protocols that maximize patient vitality.
Dr. Keyes focuses on training other health professionals on a functional approach to  Immunity & Allergic Disease, Thyroid-Adrenal Dysfunction and Cardiometabolic Syndrome.

Dr. Ken Redcross, MD, author of, “Bond: The 4 Cornerstones of a Lasting and Caring Relationship with Your Doctor,” runs his own concierge personalized medical practice designed to enhance the patient-doctor relationship while providing convenient access to a full spectrum of healthcare services and holistic and wellness counseling. He joins us today to discuss theories on why COVID-19 might be affecting more African Americans than any other population, including Black children who are being hospitalized at a rate five times higher than white children according to new data from the CDC. Comorbidities like hypertension, diabetes and vitamin D deficiencies are all tied to COVID-19 complications and disproportionately affect the Black community, but the alarming rates at which COVID-19 is killing Black Americans extends beyond these comorbidities and may be attributed to other factors such as inequitable access to testing and treatment and withholding racial/ethnicity data from reports on virus outcomes. Dr. Redcross will discuss recommended health changes that can help disproportionately affected communities.
